Iranian Progressive Youth

Iranian Progressive Youth (IPY) is a grassroots initiative established in September 2009 by a group of Iranian students residing in the Netherlands. Through its international activities IPY has grown to become a worldwide network organization of students. IPY’s activities revolve around the human rights situation in Iran and particularly sympathetic of, students within the Iranian borders. Built on pillars of political, cultural, religious, and ideological pluralism, it promotes and maintains a democratic space in which the human and civil rights of persons are its central focus.
Based on our mission in promoting human rights and civil society in Iran, we have organized several projects, such as international conferences, actions, statements, among other initiatives. Along these lines, we also have collaborated with different international organizations such as European Students’ Union, European Youth Forum, and youth branches of international political parties and other organizations .

IPY is a not-for-profit organization supported by volunteers, subsidies, sponsors and donations by private parties. In its official form, it is a voluntary association, recognized by Dutch law as an institution for general benefit (Algemeen Nut Beogende Instellingen) and registered at the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (Kamer van Koophandel) as an association (number 27354746).

Iranian Progressive Youth (IPY) is een grassroot burgerinitiatief die op 1 september 2009 door een groep van Iraanse studenten in Nederland is opgericht. Dankzij haar internationale activiteiten is IPY snel tot een wereldwijde netwerkorganisatie van betrokken jongeren met een Iraanse komaf gegroeid. De maatschappelijke en sociale activiteiten van IPY zijn gericht op mensenrechtensituatie met speciale aandacht voor studententoestand in Iran. De grondgedachte van vereniging is gebaseerd op een pluralistische denkwijze, veelzijdigheid van denken en democratisch oplossen van problemen en verwelkomt iedereen om, ongeacht politieke- culturele of religieuze achtergrond te participeren.

IPY is tevens een non-profit organisatie gesteund door vrijwilligers, en werkt door middel van de subsidies, sponsors en donaties van particulieren die zijn activiteitensteunen. IPY is erkend door de Nederlandse Belastingdienst als een vereniging zonder winstoogmerk (ANBI – Algemeen Nut Beogende Instellingen) en staat bij de Kamer van Koop handel als een vereniging onder KvK-nummer 27354746 geregistreerd.
