Be a part of the movement for human rights and democracy in Iran 

      The 7^th of December is Iranian Students Day. Every year students, and many of their fellow citizens, engage in massive demonstrations held in many cities across Iran. These Iranian students and their supporters are demanding respect for human rights and democracy which they admire and value like most people all over the world. The 7^th of December is an iconic day in Iranian history because it is the anniversary of the murder of three student protesters in 1953. Today, Iranians, especially the youth, are risking their lives daily by taking a leading role in the movement for human rights and democracy. In order for them to succeed in realizing their dream of a free, equal and democratic Iran it is essential to gain support from the international community. It is important that their voices are heard internationally and brought under special attention.

      We are a group of Iranian students in the Netherlands and we have organized this gathering in Delft to support the students inside Iran. We recognize that the Iranian student movement is one of the most important social movements in Iran and as international students we want to be part of this process of democracy in Iran. It is our duty to provide hope for our fellow Iranian students inside Iran particularly because we have the possibility here to promote their voice.

      We kindly ask you to show your solidarity with Iranian students. If you believe that human rights and democracy should be enjoyed by all humans, we request that you join us to help change the situation. You can express your solidarity with the movement by simply attending our event and asking the governments of Europe to play a more involved diplomatic role in supporting the democratic grassroots movement. It is only through your help that the leaders of the current regime can be held accountable for the horrific murders of thousands of political activists and students.
