Call for Dialogue

On why and how of forming an independent and distributed self-organization of the Iranian youth and students abroad

Europe-based Persian student activists are coming together for a conference in Germany in October of 2010. The three-day “Call for Dialogue” will be held at Berlin Free University on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd of October 2010.
The conference organizers have announced that “the current political situation of Iran causes its nationals who live both inside its geographical territories and across the globe to gasp for air under the shell of a seemingly endless night. The recent waves of protest in Iran, despite all the sacrifices, have not yet broken down the dam of repression, oppression, and crackdown. Bloods has been washed off the streets, but the struggle is by no means over.”

The student activists believe that the Persian (Iranian) protest movement now requires careful reflection of the past and the creation of new perspectives to determine future actions and guide its existence. The experience of the movement clearly demonstrates that organizing from below is necessary to end cycles of domination.
The non-partisan “Call for Dialogue” organizers, add, “Our generation has never had the possibility to create an independent response to the established inhumane practices of our government. As a result, we see the need to organize a series of meetings and dialogues concerning issues surrounding the concept of ‘organizing from below’. These sessions have been arranged by students and young political activists who seek to set the foundation for an independent and distributed organization of youth and students. The formation of such an organization through a ‘from below’ process necessitates the discussion of sensitive issues by members of various concerned groups. Therefore, it is crucial that many diverse young activists gather to discuss the pivotal topics and problems pertaining to the self-organization of Iranian students and youth abroad.

“To this end, we call for interested groups to gather and discuss the issues surrounding formation of an independent, distributed, self-organization of youth and students abroad. We believe that alternative approaches can be developed with collective intellect and that for that reason, we need to engage in continuous dialogue. We hope that this gathering will be the opening chapter of a novel experience in the political arena.”

The focus of the three day gathering will be the following themes:
1. The necessity to form an independent, distributed, self-organized groups of the Iranian youth and students abroad
(The difficulties of the current political situation; requirements and prospects of transition)
2. Revisiting the experience of the activities of the youth networks abroad, particularly in the past year
(Achievements, shortcomings, and possibilities of a more widespread self-organization of these networks)
3. An overview of the international experiences regarding the organization of youth and the students
(With an emphasis on the experiences of self-organized international groups)
4. Alternative models of independent self-organization of youth and students abroad
(With an emphasis on organizing from below: how and why?)

Format of the gathering
Our goal is to provide the possibility of active participation in this meeting, in such a way that they get to know and talk to each other, trust one another, and think together so that we can eventually find common objectives for collaboration. To this aim, the meeting will be held as panel discussions and open discussion sessions.
The content of the panels will be the articles that are to be submitted and presented by participants. The submission of articles is not mandatory for participation in the meeting. Furthermore, some of the panels will bring together Persian-speaking with non-Persian speaking international activists and will be held in English or German.

Article submission
All interested youth and students are encouraged to submit articles related to the above themes. Submit by 15thSeptember, 2010 to youthdialog@gmail.com . Articles should be in “MS-Word” format. The received articles will be all published in both digital and print formats and will become accessible to the public on the website of the meeting.
Due to time constraints, only a selection of articles will be presented by the author. The list of the articles and the participants of the panels will be announced on the 20th of September.

Registration
In order to facilitate the arrangements of the meeting, interested youth and students are kindly requested to inform the organizers of their attendance by sending in a registration form to youthdialog@gmail.com. Registration will also be possible at the site of the meeting. It should be noted that personal details of the participants are not mandatory for registration.

Facilities
During the gathering, accommodations will be available free of charge inside the university sport halls or dorms. Participants should bring their own sleeping bags.

فراخوان به گفتگو

پیرامون چرایی و چگونگی سازمان یابی مستقل و فرامحلی جوانان و دانشجویان خارج کشور

آنانی که نمی خواهند به زیستن در فاجعه خو کنند همواره جویای راههایی هستند که امیدها و تلاشهای خود برای بازسازی جامعه را در بسترهای جمعی سامان دهند. این راهها اگر چه اغلب به دشواری یافت می شوند و گاه نیز به بیراهه و ناکامی می انجامند، اما بی گمان با سکون نسبتی ندارند. حیات سیاسی جامعه  ما در قرن اخیر شاهد گویایی است از این راهجویی های جمعی به سوی آفرینش افقهای روشن. فضای سیاسی کنونی جامعه ایرانی، چه در درون مرزهای جعرافیایی آن، و چه در گستره ی پراکنده جهانی، زیر پوست شبی به ظاهر بی انتها، مضطرب نفس می کشد. سیل سیال مردم با تمام جانفشانی ها هنوز سد اختناق، ستم و سرکوب را درهم نشکسته است. خون ها از خیابان شسته شده اند، اما آب ها از آسیاب نیفتاده است. اینک جنبش اعتراضی به مرحله ای از حیات خود رسیده است که نیاز به بازنگری دقیق گذشته و ترسیم چشم انداز نوین برای هستی و کنش خود در آینده دارد. تجربه ی فراز و فرودهای همین جنبش نیز به روشنی گواه آن است که سازمان یابی از پایین ضرورتی است گریزناپذیر در مبارزات مردمی برای پایان دادن به بازتولید چرخههای سلطه
همگرایی این دغدغه ها به آغاز سلسله جلسات و گفتگوهایی میان جمع هایی از دانشجویان و فعالان سیاسی جوان خارج کشور در مورد امکان و چگونگی امر «سازمان یابی از پایین» منجر گردید که زمینه سازی برای سازمان یابی مستقل و فرامحلی جوانان و دانشجویان خارج کشور را دورنمای خود قرار داده بود. ضرورت اندیشیدن به این دورنما از این واقعیت بر می خیزد که نسل ما هیچگاه فرصت آن را نیافته که پاسخ سیاسی مستقل خود را به مناسبات غیرانسانی مستقر طرح ریزی کرده و بنیان نهد. دلمشغولی برای شکل گیری چنین تشکلی در روندی از پایین، ایجاب می کند طرح این موضوع حساس در جمع های وسیع تری دنبال شود و این مستلزم آن است که تمامی مباحث ضروری معطوف به چنین هدفی، در نشستی سراسری و با حضور گسترده ی فعالان جوان علاقمند مطرح شود. بر این مبنا متن حاضر که خود حاصل آن گفتگوهای اولیه ی چندین ماهه است، فراخوانی است به مشارکت در همایشی که محور آن گفتگوی جمعی پیرامون ضرروت ها و راهکارهای سازمان یابی مستقل و فرامحلی جوانان و دانشجویان خارج کشور خواهد بود. بی-تردید دستیابی به راهکارهای بدیلی که افقهای دیگری را بگشایند، می تواند از دل خرد جمعی ای زاده شود که لاجرم همزاد گفتگوهای مستمر است. امید است برگزاری چنین گردهمایی هایی زمینه ای گردد برای گشایش و تجربه ی عرصه ی جدیدی در فضای سیاسی پیش روی ما.

محورهای بحث و گفتگو در همایش سه روزه ای که به همین منظور تدارک دیده شده به شرح زیر خواهد بود

١. ضرورت های سازمان یابی مستقل و فرامحلی جوانان و دانشجویان خارج کشور
(دشواری های وضعیت سیاسی حاضر؛ الزامات و چشم اندازهای گذار)
٢. بازخوانی تجارب فعالیت شبکه های جوانان خارج کشور، به ویژه در سال گذشته
(دستاوردها، کاستی ها و امکانات موجود برای سازمان یابی گسترده تر این شبکه ها)
٣. نگاهی به تجارب بین المللی در زمینه ی سازمان یابی جوانان و دانشجویان
(با تاکید بر تجربیات گروه های خودسازمان یافته ی بین المللی)
٤. الگوهای بدیل برای سازمان یابی مستقل جوانان و دانشجویان خارج کشور
(با تاکید بر سازمان یابی از پایین: چیستی و چرایی آن)

شیوه ی برگزاری
برآنیم که امکان شرکت فعال همه ی دانشجویان و جوانان علاقمند در این همایش فراهم باشد تا همه بتوانند با هم گفتگو کنند، یکدیگر را بهتر بشناسند، به هم اعتماد کنند و با هم بیاندیشند تا بتوانیم در نهایت افقی مشترک برای همکاری بیابیم. از این رو نشست ها در قالب میزگردهای بحث و گفتگو و همچنین جلسات بحث آزاد برگزار می شود. محتوای میزگردهای گفتگو نیز بر اساس مقالات ارائه شده توسط خود شرکت کنندگان شکل خواهد گرفت. اگر چه برای حضور در همایش یا شرکت در مباحثات اتاق‌های گفتگو، الزامی به ارائه ی مقاله نیست. علاوه بر این، برای حضور فعالین بین المللی، میزگردهایی به زبان انگلیسی و آلمانی هم پیش بینی شده است

ارسال مقالات
از تمامی دانشجویان و جوانان علاقمند به ارائه ی مقاله دعوت می شود تا در مورد محورهای فوق مقالات خود را حداکثر تا تاریخ ١٥ سپتامبر به نشانی پست الکترونیکی، مندرج در پایان فراخوان، و بصورت “Word” ارسال کنند. محدودیتی در مورد حجم مقاله وجود ندارد. کلیه ی مقالات دریافتی در دو شکل دیجیتالی و چاپی برای شرکت کنندگان و در وب سایت این گردهمائی برای دسترسی همگان منتشر خواهند شد. با توجه به محدودیت  زمانی تعدادی از مقالات برای هر میزگرد برگزیده و توسط مولفان ارائه می گردند. فهرست مقالات و ارائه دهندگان میزگردها حداکثر تا تاریخ ٢٠ سپتامبر منتشر می گردد

ثبت نام
به منظور تسهیل در برگزاری این گردهمایی از دانشجویان و جوانان علاقمند درخواست می شود تا با پر کردن فرم ثبت نام، شرکت خود را تا حد امکان به اطلاع برگزارکنندگان برسانند. در صورت وجود هرگونه محدودیت در ثبت نام، شرکت بدون ثبت نام قبلی و تهیه ی کارت ورود در محل هم امکان پذیر است. ضمنا ذکر مشخصات فردی برای ثبت نام، چه از طریق ارسال فرم با ایمیل و چه به صورت حضوری، الزامی نیست
